Taking Care of Your Skin During Quarantine

So you’re stuck at home and maybe letting your routine slip a little bit with this new schedule of yours? That’s totally ok and you are definitely not the only one! We’re here to help with some tips to take care of your skin during quarantine, so you come out looking better than ever.

Stay Hydrated. Did you know that dehydration can cause dry and cracked skin? It can also contribute to dark circles under the eye and even cause acne! Drinking water feeds the skin from the inside and leads to softer, brighter, healthier skin. Keep your water intake on track at home and be sure to get enough throughout the day!

Get Rest. Getting plenty of sleep is essential for better looking skin. Getting a good night’s rest is necessary for proper skin cell and tissue rejuvenation.  This is when the good stuff happens! If you are having trouble with your sleep schedule through quarantine, try powering down on the electronics and picking up a good book instead. Meditation and deep breathing exercises can help you fall asleep faster and get an overall better night’s rest.

Increase Antioxidant Consumption. It’s important to fuel your body with hardworking ingredients like antioxidants because they neutralize free radicals. To incorporate them into your diet; blueberries, strawberries, sweet potatoes, green tea, and broccoli are all good sources. To incorporate them into your skincare routine; a product like ZO Skin Health’s 10% Vitamin C serum is a great source to brighten up your skin!

Cleanse Your Face Twice a Day. Using a cleanser like ZO Skin Health’s Gentle, Exfoliating, or Hydrating Cleanser depending on your skin type is an essential part of your skincare routine. Cleansing your face both morning and night ensures that your skin is free of dirt, grime and bacteria that cause imperfections. Following up with a good moisturizer like ZO Skin Health’s Renewal Crème or Recovery Crème prevents dry, flaky skin and keeps skin cells performing at an optimal level.

Exfoliate Your Face.  With the change in your routine and schedule, your skin takes a huge hit too leading it to be dry and damaged. Exfoliating your face with a product like ZO Skin Health’s Exfoliating Polish can rid your skin of dead skin cells to prevent clogged pores and leads to smoother, brighter skin!

Wear an SPF. You are not outside or in the sun when you’re stuck in quarantine, so you don’t need to wear an SPF right? Wrong! Not only can sun exposure damage skin, but prolonged screen time on laptops, phones, and in front of the TV can as well! Using an SPF like ZO Skin Health’s SPF and Primer can prevent that damage, while keeping your skin looking great.
